The DBS is a multi functional shared service centre that will handle DIAGEO - wide transactions across the world. The processes in scope are:

  • Cash Cycle (Order to Cash)
  • Purchase to Pay
  • Record to Report The DBS will develop and grow rapidly effecting massive change to working practices for in-market companies, therefore will play a key role in ensuring that this change is managed effectively with minimum disruption to the core business of DIAGEO around the world. DBS is a multicultural, multi-language environment. The Indirect Tax function within DBS contains shared service-type of activities performed for various members of the Diageo Group (preparation of indirect tax returns, including VAT, duties and other small taxes such as green tax as well as preparation of EC Sales Listings and other statistical reports, such as Intrastat), but also has extensive responsibilities around tax compliance and is heavily involved in the delivery of the Group ITT’s value add agenda.

    Top Accountabilities
  • Ensures that the markets’ indirect tax processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently and on time and the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Has the necessary market specific technical knowledge for making an effective and detailed review on the tax returns prepared by the Indirect Tax Return Analyst
  • Flags potential technical knowledge gaps/training needs identified with respect to team members
  • Has the ability to deliver a detailed review of returns
  • Able to technically develop/coach/train team members and gives regular & effective feedback
  • Able to identify process/technical knowledge gaps and identifies process improvement and cash saving opportunities for markets served
    Requirements
  • Has college/university degree in finance/accounting
  • Either has got 2 years Indirect Tax, or has the necessary level of technical knowledge for producing a result of a minimum 60% at advanced skills quizzes
  • Experience in working in an international environment
  • Experience in working with integrated software system (SAP) is an advantage
  • Excellent business English, able to effectively communicate with stakeholders
  • Good numerical skills
  • Reliable, consistent, well-organised and detail-focused
  • Able to keep strict deadlines and having them kept with junior team members
  • Customer focused, able to build excellent relationships with relevant internal and external customers
